Hi there! Very similar symptoms showed up on my XA2 Ultra.

I bricked my Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra while trying to install TWRP 3.5.2. Bootloader is unlocked.

Here?s what the phone doesn?t do:

? Doesn?t turn on

? Doesn?t vibrate when power is pressed

? Doesn?t vibrate when power is pressed for a long time

? Doesn?t vibrate when power+vol down is pressed for a long time

? Doesn?t vibrate when power+vol up is pressed for a long time

? Doesn?t light up any LED when connected to a wall charger

? Doesn?t light up any LED when connected to a PC

? Doesn?t light up any LED when connected to a PC with vol up pressed

? Doesn?t light up any LED when connected to a PC with vol down pressed

But here?s what it still does, so at least there?s still hope it may resurrect from the dead:

? It is recognized when connected to a PC as ?Other devices / QUSB_BULK?

? It is recognized when connected to a PC with vol down pressed as ?Other devices / QUSB_BULK?

? It is recognized when connected to a PC with vol up pressed as ?Other devices / QUSB_BULK? but only for a few seconds, and then it disconnects. So at the very least the device ?knows? it should be doing something differently when connected with vol up pressed

Is there any source for APPSW firmware for the XA2 Ultra? Any way to retrieve that from a custom ROM or an ftf file?

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

There are 2 things you can try for sure:

1. Visit nearest good service centre. If they have proper equipment and your phone can communicate with pc using emergency loader, maybe there is hope.

2. You can always try to find working phone with broken lcd and swap main board or buy working mainboard online and swap it.

P.S.

Your phone is Mediatek-based phone, it has not much in common with Xperia TX, a Qualcomm-based product from Sony.

Best regards,

Jurij

Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor.

You are right, my bad. That means the answer for your problem is only one - main board swap.

Because being identified as qhusb_dload, as in the first post, differs from being identified as QUSB_BULK? Is that it?

No. Because there is no way to fix modern Qualcomm-based phones without Sony factory equipment, like in case of some MTK-based phones. Without service software using proper emergency loader we can do nothing.

So something changed between the Xperia TX (2012) and the Xperia XA2 Ultra (2018), is that it?

Hello Jurij. Please advice where to find FSP for LT29i?

You can find it on our 4shared download section:

or google for it. I doubt you will find firmware for that phone on Sony servers, as it's not supported anymore - it was released 9 years ago ;)
