Hallo again.
I finally found a solution to unbrick my C5 Ultra.
In my case (only red light when plugged , not blinking, not recognized by pc, completely bricked), it was a hardware problem. Not software.
I saw many cases that people had to reball its chip, the one above the big flex cable.
I am not familiar with reballing but I have reflowed quite a few Playstation 3 in the past so I decided to give it a try reflowing the motherboard of the c5.
Using a heat gun I reflowed both sides of its motherboard in the place where the
specific chip is, reflowing first the opposite site. I used non rosin flux and I reflowed at 350c for 40 seconds each side.
You can find few videos about reflowing on YouTube.
After reassembling the c5 the device was working perfect after about 2 years ????????.
Reflowing was not a permanent fix for ps3 but I am using c5 for about 3 weeks now and is working like a charm.
This is an old thread but I hope it will help someone who has the same problem.
Best regards to all.
