Hello. I own Sony Xperia Z1 C6903 (my personal) and Sony Xperia Z2 D6503 (my wife). Both have Android 4.4.
But there is a big difference.
Although the camera module is the same replacement (1271-4830), the result of photos and videos taken is decidedly different.
Z1 has a bad photo / video camera.
Z2 has an excellent photo / video camera.
Operating system and camera software are identical. No different options.
Is it possible to drastically improve the quality of the Z1 camera?

Try to update it to the latest available firmware. Android 4.4 is very old os version for that model. The latest firmware for C6903 is 14.6.A.1.236.
