Build in radiation detector allows to sense gamma radiation between .005 and 9.99 μSv/h. Phone has dedicated button for that option, so you can enable radiation detector very quickly. Furthermore user can report his location and radiation level on Facebook and share that informations with friends. What else we can find inside Sharp Pantone 5 phone?

Technical specification:

  • W-CDMA 900MHz/1.5GHz/2.1GHz (14 Mbps download, 5,7 Mbps upload)
  • 3,7" capacitive touch screen with 854 x 480 resolution,
  • Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Operating System,
  • 5 MPx main camera, 0,3 MPx video call camera,
  • build in gamma radiation detector (0.005 - 9.99 μSv/h),
  • waterproof,
  • dustproof,
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g / n
  • 115 × 58 × 12mm
  • available in 8 colours.
Phone will be available only in Japan Softbank network operator in the middle of July. Price is currently unknown, but after last year tragedy in Fukushima nuclear plant, that phone may be a huge success.

On that picture you can see radiation detector chip:

What do you think about new Sharp Pantone 5? Should Sony think about radiation detector in for example Xperia active successor?

Na pewno sporo osób kupi go właśnie ze względu na ten detektor promieniowania... Taki wbudowany w Xperię detektor na pewno zwiększyłby zainteresowanie telefonami Sony ;)
